Did you ever try to replace the cream in a sauce by yogurt? If not, you really should try it out.

This chicken dish with yogurt is a light meal for summer and who ever is on a diet can add it to the plan without any regrets. And the nice thing is, it is easy to cook and does not need a lot of ingredients.

What you need:

1 medium chicken cut in large pieces
1 small onion
1 small glass of white wine
300 gr yogurt 2%
250 ml chicken broth
2 Tbsp fresh oregano leaves
Salt
Pepper
Some olive oil to fry

How to prepare:

Wash the chicken pieces under running water to remove small pieces of bone from the chopping. Dry up and salt and pepper all the pieces.

Chop the onion finely.

In a large casserole heat some olive oil on high. Add the chicken and the onions and fry until the meat is slightly brown. Reduce the heat on medium.

Deglaze with wine and let cook for appr. 5 minutes. Then add the chicken broth and cover with a lid. Let cook for 45 minutes or until meat is tender.

Remove the casserole from the heat.

In a bowl add the yogurt. Add slowly some of the hot broth with a ladle while stirring well with a whisk. It is important to add the broth slowly to bring the yogurt to temperature of the food and to not curdle the
yogurt. Add the mixture to the casserole and stir well to spread evenly.

Chop the oregano leaves and add to the chicken, stirring slightly.

Serve with rice.
